Lamentations of Jeremiah

I always thought about Lamentations as a very sad book and it has even been described as a book of suffering..but I read Lamentations 3 this morning and I want to share some bits of it with you...

Jeremiah starts out stating how God had dealt with him and spends the first 20 verses explaining what he's being through but from chapter 22, he writes:

GOD'S LOYAL LOVE COULDN'T HAVE RUN OUT
HIS MERCIFUL LOVE COULDN'T HAVE DRIED UP
THEY'RE CREATED NEW EVERY MORNING
HOW GREAT YOUR FAITHFULNESS
I'M STICKING WITH GOD (I SAY IT OVER AND OVER)
HE'S ALL I'VE GOT LEFT

GOD PROVES TO BE GOOD TO THE MAN WHO PATIENTLY WAITS
TO THE WOMAN WHO DILIGENTLY SEEKS
ITS A GOOD THING TO QUIETLY HOPE
QUIETLY HOPE FOR HELP FROM GOD
ITS A GOOD THING WHEN YOU'RE YOUNG
TO STICK IT OUT THROUGH THE HARD TIMES

WHEN LIFE IS HEAVY AND HARD TO TAKE,
GO OFF BY YOURSELF, ENTER THE SILENCE,
BOW IN PRAYER, DON'T ASK QUESTIONS
WAIT FOR HOPE TO APPEAR
DON'T RUN FROM TROUBLE, TAKE IT FULL-FACE..
THE 'WORST' IS NEVER THE WORST

WHY? BECAUSE THE MASTER WON'T EVER
WALK OUT AND FAIL TO RETURN
IF HE WORKS SEVERELY, HE ALSO WORKS TENDERLY
HIS STOCKPILES OF LOVE ARE IMMENSE.
HE TAKES NO PLEASURE IN MAKING LIFE HARD
IN THROWING ROADBLOCKS ALONG THE WAY
-Lamentations 3:22-33
I was encouraged by these verses and I hope they bless and encourage you too. God has got our backs no matter what we go through. He's there in the midst of it and He will see you too. Stay strong!!

Amazing...that right there...God's love is overwhelming unlike anything we as human beings are used to. I am grateful for this love
